    Drug Bust/Fire/Chase

    Post by DCBurke

    ERT Call 073110
Drug Bust, escalated to fire and police chase.

Units or Task Forces on scene:
    Lightforce 1
    ALS-1
    BLS-1
    Patrol Cars 2, 6
RRT and AG-1 Due but never responded.

    Call
Received a request from FBI for a drug raid after reception of a warrant for 44 Jackson Blvd. Requested police watch roads while TAC and AG-1 geared up. After red Honda Civic fleed scene with suspects, they were arrested after a police chase involving State police and the PFD. Fires started, and crews dispatched

One death. One injury. Death was handled by coroner, injury treated by ALS-1. One Personnel injury. Michael Galligano was injured during an explosion due to lack of caution and will be unavailable for response for TWO (2) calls.

TAC and AG-1 did not respond in a timely manner. I do commend patrol for improvising and rescuing the situation. Units were also noted that there was an injury in this emergency, due to lack of caution taken. Was handled appropriately though. Cadets remember to read around before acting.

I was fine. In my opinion, we did pretty well. We extinguished the fire, and did a complete search.

Maybe can we train some patrol officers or teach them how some tac training just incase something like this happens again patrol can arive and if needed ast tac just a thought

Most officers will receive situation management, however will not receive full TAC training. Situation management includes the gear, and basic entry techniques. Everything else is in the how-to section, or will be ordered from a TAC officer.
